SiSi attended a prelegislative Dail debate for the Victims of Sexual Violence Civil Protection Orders Bill 2025 on the 29th of November last.  The Bill aims to enable courts to impose "no contact" orders on sexual offence offenders upon their release from prison. The legislation was brought by Matt Carthy in June 2025 and made its way to the Second Stage in the Dáil. There was support from across a spectrum of survivors and supporters who supported the bill. The Bill was about removing control from perpetrators and provide security to survivors. SiSi supports the Bill and future further ammendments that may offer greater protectiuons still. The presumtion of contact iwith children in family law cases still places victim/survivors and children in danger when ongoing contact is priorotised above safety. In many cases "no contact" is the best option.
